What We Do
Elite Advisory Coaching

Elite Advisory Coaching

Whether you’re looking for a thought partner to help you navigate your current path more effectively, break out of a challenging plateau or create an ambitious new vision for the future of your business, you’ve come to the right place. Welcome.

There are times throughout the lifecycle of an advisory business when a leader needs a strategic thought partner to help them  develop the right path for the next phase of their business.  Successful leaders are well acquainted with the concept of, “what got you here, won’t get you there”.  The best leaders have the ability and self awareness to acknowledge the challenges they face, adapt an open mindset and gather the necessary resources to help them, and their team, break through the inertia to achieve something new.

We are committed to providing the right combination of challenge and support to help you clarify your destination and acquire the right knowledge, tools and perspective to get there successfully. Our approach is informed by the belief that trust and candor are the cornerstones of every successful relationship.

Focus

No two client engagements are the same, but common goals include:

•    Transitioning from advisor to strategic leader
•    Taking the firm to the next level
•    Establishing effective prospecting and business development processes
•    Developing and leading high performance teams
•    Designing an organization built for sustainable success
•    Learning to let go to support growth
•    Aligning strategy with culture
•    Clarifying and refining the client experience to attract the “right clients”
•    Enhancing brand presence and positioning

Fit Establishing a productive engagement starts with good chemistry. Whether we are meeting in person or via phone or Skype, an initial consultation will help us to determine whether we are a “right-fit”.

Purpose Consulting Group has a deep network of experienced, credentialed executive coaches and consultants. If it seems you would be better served by someone with a different approach or skill set, we would be happy to put you in touch with the right person.

Getting started Our engagement may be as short as a few weeks or as long as a year. The scope of our work together will determine the duration, so establishing clear objectives – as well as specific milestones to measure success – will be our first priority. We’ll then set a realistic timeframe for achieving them.

Practice Assessment – helps lend clarity to our purpose

Unless you have a pressing issue that demands immediate attention, we typically begin by conducting a Practice Assessment that takes an hour and a half to two hours depending on the complexity of your business.

Comparative Analysis – defines gaps and priorities and goals

Once we analyze your business, we will have a follow-up discussion to review the gaps between your current business and ideal business.  We will also share insights from leading advisory practices that will help you define, clarify, and prioritize your goals.

Roadmap for Success – is driven by a clear set of goals

We will partner with you to lay out your roadmap which includes the development of initiatives, supporting tactics, clear milestones, project timetables, and, importantly, expected results.  For larger engagements requiring sweeping organizational change, this may require a series of initiatives that continuously build on one another to accomplish a grand vision and higher purpose.  Inertia can be the enemy of progress, so we work thoughtfully with you to outline a realistic path so that the end goals are realized.

Measuring Results -  is critical.  How did it go?

We are highly focused on achieving real business outcomes.  We will monitor your progress and keep your initiative on track as we go, so there should be no surprises at the end of our engagement.

We are not afraid to have difficult conversations.  In the midst of our engagement, if we find there are serious unforeseen impediments to your goal, we will work with you to course correct and refocus the effort on success.  We don’t believe the emperor should walk around with no clothes!

How We Help

We are thought partners and strategizers who thrive on working with innovative leaders and are highly focused on delivering ROI.  You might call us impact junkies who truly get out of bed to help our clients change their world for the better.  Whether you are tapping us for help with an important launch or initiative, looking to reinvent your existing business or focused on taking your successful advisory business to the next level, we follow a similar process.

Who We Help

  • Asset Managers/Custodians

Advisors, especially the largest ones, are inundated.  According to recent research by Cogent, the average advisor is contacted 126 times a month with investment product outreach alone.  In a world where asset management and custody are becoming increasingly commoditized, it can be difficult to get in the door and be heard above all the noise.  A well-crafted and executed thought leadership program can help your sales force increase their credibility and efficacy to build connections that increase share of wallet and net new business.

  • Broker Dealers/Enterprise RIAs

Many firms struggle with sustainable growth and experience highly inconsistent results among advisory teams.  The average advisor within some firms brings in less than two net new clients in a given year.  The challenge therefore becomes, how do you stimulate and support meaningful growth among those who have the skill and will to achieve it.
